Seeing the sons of Dhritarashtra in battle formation ready to fight. Arjuna’s flag bore Hanuman.
Bhagavad Gītā 1.20
The first chapter of the Gita of often read too quickly. The 100 sons of the blind king Dhritarashtra represent our negative emotions that arise all too quickly. There were many battle formations. A story from the Mahabharata which is where the Gita is found tells of the Kauravas, (the bad guys) forming a chakra battle formation. Only Arjuna knew how to get in and destroy the chakra and get out again. His son Abhimanyu could get in but not out. But as Arjuna was somewhere else Abhimanyu charged in. Sadly he was killed. The lesson here is against the idea of breaking someone or even yourself unless you truly know how to fix it.
As for Hanuman, the monkey god of the Ramayana, he’s actually the first to hear Krishna’s teachings. Who else heard those teachings? Arjuna obviously, Sanjaya the story teller, Dhritarashtra listening to Sanjaya and Barbarik a disembodied demon who Krishna gave divine senses so he could judge the whole battle.
